Could Today Be the Day!?!

Erik and I are heading to the doctors at 1:45 this afternoon. This will be my last checkup before the baby arrives. There is the possibility that they could decide to go ahead and induce me if they think it is necessary. I still haven't experienced any contractions yet so I have a feeling they will hold off and wait. But last night I started feeling "off." My friend Marisa called and said she had a dream that I went into labor so maybe it will happen soon! Please keep baby Harper in your prayers.

Erik and his daddy painted some beautiful stripes on the nursery border last night. They are navy and white. It adds a nice little pop to the room. I think Erik is ready for Harper's arrival because the longer I sit around and wait, the more ideas I come up with to add to the nursery. He could be painting sailboats on the walls next week if this baby doesn't hurry up and get here! hehe

I filled out a baby blog on my Tumblr account yesterday so I thought I would put it on here too.

Baby Blog!

When is your due date? Sept. 20, 2010

What week are you in? Week 39 cmmon baby!

How many pounds have you gained so far? Last week I was at 30 pounds!

Have you had an ultrasound? O yes, I wish I could get one every week. I love the ultrasounds.

Do you know the gender of your baby? All boy!

Do you have a name picked out? Harper Michael Huffman

Is the child being named after someone? Well I babysat a little boy named Harper growing up and I always loved the name. Plus I think it sounds good with our last name, Huffman. His middle name, Michael, is after my father’s middle name. It is also my Papa’s first name. And I have a cousin named Michael!

Who is going to be with you during delivery? My hubby, Erik!

Natural or medicated childbirth? I have decided to go with the medication. No need for excess pain for this girl! I mean, I wouldn’t go get a tooth pulled out without getting Novocain…

How are you feeling right about now? HUGE! Sleepy, anxious, hungry… but ready to have this baby!

What was the first thing you bought for baby? I bought several outfits from Janie and Jack. But I didn’t know the sex of the child so I went ahead and got girls and boys outfits. Silly, I know, but I was so excited! So I have a few girl things that I will save in case the next baby is a little girl.

Do you feel you are ready to have a baby? Yes! PREPARED and ready to go!

Are you excited or scared about delivery? More excited than scared!

Any food cravings? Anything sweet makes me happy. I love putting Snickers bars in the freezer and eating them frozen. Yum!

Anything you loved before that you absolutely cannot eat anymore? I had a few weeks where chicken made me sick to my stomach. It was horrible. I love chicken. Glad I got over that!

Anything else you’d like to share or vent about? Still trying to make sure i have everything ready for the little man! I can’t wait to see his sweet face and hold him in my arms.

A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.

  1. Awww!!! I'm so excited for you guys!!! I had a dream that my best friend went into labor and the next day she did! :)

Good luck at your doctor's appt!!!

  2. Unless there are complications there is no reason to hurry this baby out. Try to keep him in as long as possible. You do have the right to refuse to be induced no matter what your dr is trying to make you do. Being induced is a heck of a lot hard to get through that natural labour.

  3. How exciting! Good luck with everything! The picture above is gorgeous! Y'all look like Barbie and Ken!

  4. Hope your appointment goes well! I'm so excited for ya'll!

  5. Best of luck to you - wow, you two are a beautiful couple! I'm sure your baby will be absolutely gorgeous!

  6. how exciting! best of luck to you, erik, and baby harper! :)

  7. WOW!! You could be a mom next time you blog! SO fun!! My sister had the chicken thing too with her pregnancy...hmm!!

    Praying for a safe delivery!

  8. OMG! I remember that excited and nervous feeling! You guys will have a blast getting to know the little one! Good luck with everything! Congrats!

  9. Good luck! I hope that it all goes great if they decide to induce you today!! I was induced with both Scarlett and Stella Kate, and both times was a wonderful, easy experience. My prayers are with y'all!!

  10. I have loved reading your blog during your pregnancy, especially being pregnant also! I am so excited that the time is here and that you are so ready! I am sure it will all go great, and I will lift up your sweet little family in prayers as you wait for Harper to get here! Congrats and ENJOY every second!

  11. Hope everything goes well!! :) Keep us posted...if you're able ;)

  12. Praying for you guys! Can't wait to see the little man. :) And from a previous post, I had the same fears about nursing that you do. It's completely natural to worry that it won't work out as you'd hoped. Honestly, I had a terrible post-c section experience that I won't go into, but it drained me and nursing was very difficult. My daughter nursed for two weeks, exclusively, then I started pumping around the clock. I pumped until she was 11 months old and was very proud of myself for everything I was doing for my baby girl. No matter what happens, you'll have plenty of options and lots of help. Take advantage of your lactation consultant. I called mine every day, sometimes twice a day, for the first month!

  13. All the best for a "speedy delivery" and healthy & happy baby boy!

  14. Wishing you a wonderful delivery!!!

How sweet that Harper was the name of a little boy you watched over. My Nanny named her little girl after me ... when I was older and found out I was over the moon thrilled!!!

Can't wait to read all about Mr. Harper Michael Huffman's entrance into the world ( the time, date, weight etc.)

  15. I Can't believe its nearly time!! Time really flies doesn't it? Just wait until he's finally here.. it will seem to fly by even faster. Good luck!! xo

  16. You two will have the most beautiful baby! Can't wait to see pics. I hope you have a safe, easy delivery :)

  17. I can't wait to see him!! Thank you for these updates and the baby journal - it brought back so many memories! Peyton (my baby) is now 10 and I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. You, Harper & Erik are in my prayers, my sweet friend! xxoo You could be moments away from kissing the forehead of the most precious gift of your life!

  18. I can't wait to see pictures! I just love newborn photos!!!
