Curious George First Birthday Party

I was looking through my blog and I realized I never did a full recap of Harper's first birthday. It was on September 18, 2011 and we had an absolute blast! We had a Curious George theme. I need to find his invitation and take a picture to show you all! I designed his invite in Illustrator and then I made the envelopes with my Cricut Machine out of old vintage Curious George books. I even found Curious George stamps on Ebay! Cute, Cute, Cute!!!

My sweet friends came in town for the day and they were a HUGE help! Thank you Cissy, Brooke, Marisa, and Bri for all of your help! And Kent and Brice too... they were quite the little helpers!!!

Here are some photos from the big day:

At the last minute we decided to get a bounce house. I am so glad we decided to go that route. All of the kids loved it and it kept them occupied for hours. Even our dog Fender loved the bounce house! He literally ran up the ramp then started running around inside the bounce house with all of the kids. We decided to buy Harper a swing set for his first Birthday present. It was a hit too!

Harper absolutely loves going on the swing but it seems to put him right asleep. He passed out within a few minutes on the swing. It was so cute.

And then there was cake! We decided to get a chocolate miniature cake for Harper to destroy. He took it out. That cake had NO CHANCE!

  1. So adorable :) I love the theme !!!

  2. Awww he is so cute! My son loves George too - I am thinking of doing a George themed party for him this year too!

  3. The Curious George theme is adorable. Love the adorable cupcakes and the gift boxes.

The image of Harper destroying the cake is priceless. He sure did have a lot of fun!

The new blog header is fab! :)

  4. That might be the happiest little boy I've ever seen!

    Happy Birthday Harper!

  5. Awesome party for Harper!

  6. So very creative, and I love that you do not mind sharing where you find the items you need. Gives me great ideas to share with my daughter. Thanks.

  7. Awww Whit is having a sock monkey theme party...very similar in March. We cannot wait. It was all very cute for Harper. Whit is ALSO getting a playset but in the area I want isn't level so my hubby is having to build up with railroad ties and dirt and mulch and all is in the process now, haha. Good thing y'alls was flat.

  8. I think he liked the cake! I can't believe it's already been a year. Time flies when you're having fun (: Love the George idea, as would my boys!

  9. Nice decoration. i think its chocolate cake. i love it so much.
