Office Makeover Part I

I finally have my own SPACE! My wonderful husband and father helped my vision come to life. I am back working full-time, so I really needed my own office. I primarily work from home and working on my laptop from the couch wasn't cutting it. I had a craft room upstairs but it was a disorganized mess. I love to be super organized so I decided to start drawing out ideas for a nice organized room that I could work out of.

Most of my home has a very neutral palette. I decided to go bold and bright for this space. It's hard to stay happy and cheery when you stare at a computer screen all day. I decided to make this room a "happy" place. After spending too much time looking at craft rooms and offices on Pinterest, I made a list of my favorite design ideas. My favorite idea was converting a closet into a desk space. My dad took down the shelves and built his own. Then he cut out a desktop and secured it into the closet. It is absolutely PERFECT!! I really love the wallpaper. This part of the room is for sewing and crafts. It still has plenty of storage space for all of my crafting crap. I love the hot pink color that we used to paint the wood.

I will share the finished craft room in three parts. This is the first part of the room. Converting the closet to a work space really makes the room seem much bigger. I LOVE IT!

Guest Room Makeover

I love the feeling when you finish decorating a room in the house. Right now our home is pretty plain. It is sill beautiful and I love it but I want to add my own personal touch to each room. Harper's nursery is almost perfect. Every time I walk in there it makes me happy. It is so soft, soothing, and adorable. Now that it is done it is time to move on to the next room. Originally I wanted to do our master bedroom first. But it is going to take the most mula. So I decided to go with the guest bedroom instead. Since we are on a tight budget I am going to try some DIY projects and shop at IKEA for most of the furniture.

In our last home I had the guest room decorated with a "shabby chic" look. I bought old antique furniture and sanded them, painted them, and distressed them. It looked incredible. But I decided to sell all of the furniture on Craigslist. It all sold in less than a week! And now I am left with just a mattress and box spring and a white room.

Last night I spent a few hours on Pinterest coming up with ideas. Here are a few of my favorite room ideas:

As you can see, I am all over the place. Which one do you like the best? What color scheme do you think works best in a guest bedroom?

Home Improvements

For the past few weeks, the only thing on my mind has been BABY!! But now things are slowly getting back to normal. I go grocery shopping, I am starting to cook again, some kind of order is coming together in the house. Now it is time to start decorating the house. We moved in in June but never got the chance to complete all of the rooms. We went from a 2 bedroom home to a 4 bedroom home, so as you can imagine we need a lot of furniture and new decor. Now that we are on a budget I have starting looking for bargains on furniture. I found a gorgeous dining room table on Craigslist! And now I am searching for console tables.  I need two. One for a hall upstairs and one for a space in my living room. I want to get an antique looking one for the living room but the one upstairs can be a little more modern.

I found this one at www.allcoffetables.com and it is only $189.00 plus free shipping! I think it would be great for extra storage.

I also like these two: (As you can see my taste is all over the place!)

Which one do you like the best??

What places do you all go to when you are shopping for home decor? Where do you find the best deals? I also need several rugs for the house. One in particular needs to have a beachy feel. I don't want anything with an aquatic scene... more of a plain rug but in beach colors. Light creams, blues, greens, or corals. Any ideas? I appreciate any help I can get.

Dapper Decor

I love femine decor. I would do my entire house in Victorian, shabby chic, and vintage designs. But now that I have a lake house to decorate, I am thinking about going for a more beach cottage look. Here are several photos I found online. These rooms are gorgeous!

I love the white furniture and the pink decor that seems to pop on top on the white!
I think the antique claw tubs are adorable. I really like the curtains that wrap around the top of the tub.
This is a really cute idea for a desk space.

Where can I find these slipcovers!??!!

I love the light green cupboard in the background. I really love the pink flowers with the green furniture. It adds a great touch of color.

Such a cute idea for a guest bedroom. I love these beds with the storage underneath. I wonder where they are from. They look "Pottery Barnish." The bright pink dresser is a great focal point in the room and the fun carpet seems to pull everything together!

I love the blue linen slipcovers and the wicker table! Cute!!
