Call me CRAZY!!!

I want a cute maternity hospital gown! And guess what... they actually make these! HAHA! Now I am sure my parents and my husband are going to give me a hard time. But you have to admit the gowns they give you in hospitals are usually faded and not very pretty! And I think it is true, if you look good... you feel good. I found a few on the "Little Trendy Baby" website. You can check it out here.

These are a few of my favorite patterns:

And I found a cute Etsy shop, Maternal Nest, that makes custom gowns from Amy Butler fabric (MY FAVORITE!) but they are a little more expensive.

The Gown-2-Go designer hospital gown can be used the entire length of your pregnancy and beyond! It is great to take with you to your monthly OB appointments, to wear during the "big moment", to be camera ready with your new baby in your arms, or to nurse your newborn at night in comfort and style as a great night gown!

They are made to flatter any body or shape and are completely customizable! This gown hits about knee length, if you would like a custom length, please let me know. Each Gown-2-Go has snaps down the full length of the back for modesty and ease of access for hospital staff. Both sleeves unsnap completely, allowing full access for nursing your newborn! They also come with a beautiful ribbon sash in your choice of coordinating colors to create a lovely empire waist.

I even found a free pattern for an adult hospital gown online. It is from Lazy Girl Designs. You can view the PDF here.  There is the sweetest little lady in town that does any type of sewing you need. I am thinking about taking some of my fabric to her and seeing how much it would cost to have her make me one.

These sure do beat the normal gowns, right!?

  2. I think these are absolutely adorable! And who says you must wear those drab, awful looking things they give you at the hospital? You are tempting me to have another baby, just so I could wear one too!! (LOL!)

  3. Those are super cute! But trust me...you are not going to care what you look like in the heat of everything. I never thought I would be like that...but you will be so exhausted you won't care. I am so excited for you and Erik. Scout will be 3 weeks on Friday! It has gone by soooo fast already!!! It is the most precious experience of your life! Harper will be gorgeous I'm sure! Enjoy every minute!

  4. I would have loved to have one!! I agree that you feel better when you look better :) But you will have the best feeling that you have ever felt in the entire world when you hold a little piece of heaven in your arms! I may look into getting one for the next baby though :)

  5. They are adorable, but when I had my little one I bled through and the hospital gown was ruined. I wouldn't want you to get it and then be disappointed if it gets ruined.

  6. Oh those are TOO cute! You have to get one! I would have to get the black damask and hot pink because its the theme of my store and our store bags. Love it! You are going to be one stylish mama :)

  7. I like the first pattern a lot...and I honestly believe if you feel like you look good...it makes you feel better. And when you look back at your pictures you'll be happy of your gown choice!

  9. I brought something to change into, but never had the chance. No need for details. To be perfectly honest with you, I didn't even care. I felt fine combing my hair and putting a little make-up on in the day. I also brought some of my favorite lotions and body sprays which helped too (I itched like crazy from all the drugs. Too much detail?? Sorry!).

Let us know what you decide. Everyone is different. Perhaps if you bring something, you will be able to change into it! :)

  11. This is THE cutest thing I've seen in awhile! I say go for it! How great will it be to be able to look at pictures of you with your newborn and you're dressed in one of these adorable gowns instead of the generic hospital one? Good luck and God bless! XOXO!

  13. I am so glad you are such a bargain finder online!! A good friend and I were pregnant at the same time (our boys are about 18 months now) and we saw Tori Spelling wear a gown like this on her show, but it was by BYOG and cost 95 dollars! We loved the idea but didn't want to spend that much. I love the sites you found and I think I may indulge this pregnancy and go for it too! Why not? :) LOVE your blog! It is helping me shop for our new addition due in October!
