Perhaps One Last Rendezvous!?

Erik and I are thinking about going on a trip before little Harper gets here. We thought it would be nice to spend a relaxing weekend together with just the two of us... because pretty soon the phrase "just the two of us" is going to be completely omitted from our vocabulary! We have thrown out a few ideas. Charleston (typical) or Myrtle Beach... because the are both in driving distance and we love the beach! Or maybe Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville, GA for a quiet weekend of relaxation and maybe a round of golf. Or even a trip down to Florida... if we can find a cheap flight. Does anyone have any good suggestions for a nice, peaceful, weekend trip!

And now that we are thinking about a vacation, I am thinking about getting some new luggage. One of our suitcases just broke and I want a new, cute, and possibly pink one to replace it. The rest of our luggage is black and blue so I think Erik can handle one piece of pink luggage just for me.

Here are some of my favorites from the CSN store:

Love the dots on this one!

I like how these two are kind of boxy. They look sturdy and sophisticated!

I love the spinner luggage:

And then there is HOT pink! On sale for 50% off.

Do you all have any luggage suggestions? Which one is your favorite?

  1. I think you need some pink luggage for sure. Too cute. I love the spinner luggage. Very retro. The pink with dots is very cute, too.

I don't have any getaway suggestions as I am not that familiar with the south. :( Someday, maybe. But, I do think you should take that trip. Once the baby comes, it's more difficult.

Let us know what you decide. Sounds like fun!

  2. I am sure you know where I'd pick to go of the SC places you mentioned :). Why not go back to Wild Dunes?? That would be fun and romantic. I love the spinner luggage. I like the hard shell. My luggage is black with pink polka dots. Courtesy of Stein Mart in Naples, FL! They actually had some cute luggage at the one here too if I remember correctly.. maybe check there for something fun.

  3. I like the boxy ones! So cute :) We went to the mountains of NC last summer as our last "just the two of us" vacation. It was great weather...much cooler than the beach. I just couldn't handle the heat of the beach! :)

  4. If you want quiet and peaceful you will not find that at Myrtle Beach- our favorite vacation spot is Edisto Beach-

  6. If you're looking for quiet, peaceful and very pampered, I highly recommend the Greenbrier in West Virginia. Not sure if you want to drive that far, but it's an amazing place. Hubby & I spent our 10 year anniversary there. Although, your suggestions of Charleston sound great, too. Although, if you want to head to a littel cooler climate, how about the mountains in Blowing Rock, NC?

  9. Charleston is always a good choice! But if you wanted something different...have you thought about Savannah or Edisto?

  11. Coming from a girl with an 8 week old (not to mention two other boys...) You guys have got to have mandatory date nights once the baby is born...or even better- a whole night to yourselves every few weeks or so. Believe me..they won't be romantic nights- you'll both pass out from exhaustion as soon as the house is quiet! hah

When my first was born, my family kept the baby every Friday night for me and it was amazingly wonderful! It keeps you sane and reminds you that taking care of yourself is perfectly OK!

  12. I couldn't agree more with the idea of your one last hurrah before Harper gets here. Your alone time will seriously be limited and you will be glad you had some time beforehand. And as far as destination, I always vote for Charleston but I know there are lots of other great places too. Have fun, wherever you go.

  13. St. Augustine FL is probably only about 5-6 hours driving distance from Greenville! Beautiful beaches and lots of history as well :) Sorry I don't know the exact distance but I've only ever driven by it on my way to Orlando.
