As most of you know, I love kids. Partially because I am still a child at heart and partially because I think children bring out the best in us. I have been looking into going back to graduate school to get my Masters in Education for the past year. And hopefully when the timing is right, I will be able to do it. I would love to be a Kindergarden teacher and eventually work in school administration.
I love working with children and I have been really blessed to have had the opportunity to nanny the past few years. I worked with wonderful families and adored the children I watched. Sometimes it is really difficult to be a nanny because when you work with the same kids every single day, you get attached to them. You love them as though they are your own and they become a part of your life. So it is very difficult when you have to leave your job and say goodbye to your kiddies.
After working with other people's kids for the last few years, I have really desired starting a family of my own. Erik and I debated when we wanted to start a family. So we started off easy and got a puppy. And what a joy he has been. We thought we would wait a year or two and sometimes when I had a tough day at work, it changed to four or five. But ultimately we realized that we were both very excited to become parents one day. And we both wanted to be "young parents." We want to help coach our kid's softball and football teams and be able to keep up with them. And kids seem to adore Erik. It is really the cutest thing I have ever seen. One of the boys I watched asked me every single day, "Where's Erik? Can he come play?" And the little girls usually have a crush on him. One little girl thought he was Prince Eric from "Little Mermaid." So adorable.
Well God has His own plans for us. Erik and I recently learned the I am preggo! And man, we are so excited. The timing is perfect. And we couldn't have planned it better ourselves. Now all of the grandparents will be within a few minutes of their first grandchild. Not to mention, Erik just switched careers, which will allow him to be home with us and off the road. We are so blessed!!! And I am so excited to be a momma! Yay for Baby Huffman!!
So of course now we are coming up with baby names, I am buying baby clothes, and we are trying to decide who the baby will look like. All of our friends that had babies recently have had girls! And all of them look like their daddies. Some look JUST LIKE their dads. So I am hoping baby Huffman will get dad's curly locks. We both have blue/green eyes... so I am guessing it will have blue or green eyes. I had massive cheeks and eyes as a baby. Erik had chubby cheeks too. Ohhh the possibilities are endless. And of course, our main concern and desire is to have a happy and healthy baby.
This is a photo of me when I was about 6 months old.

So I went to makemebabies.com and this is what it predicted our child will look like! HEHEHEHE!!! But hey, he is "curly!"
Anyways, I am going to try to update my blog weekly with baby information, updates, photos, and anything else that is fun!! Hope you will enjoy sharing this amazing experience with me!
